Auto
Cabinet Imagine
the convenience of adding all of the cabinets to a room with just
a few mouse clicks. Auto Cabinet will allow all of the cabinets
in a run to be placed by simply tracing the location with a single
line in the plan. The upper and lower cabinets can be added at the
same time with the selected style and finish. Items such as dishwashers
that have been placed in the room are automatically incorporated
into the cabinet run. Also openings and opening trim, depending
on height and offset, are automatically added as well.

Background
Extraction of SoftView Models
This new System
Option will allow SoftView to automatically update the 3D model
while you are making changes to your plan in SoftPlan. As you are
working on the drawing, SoftPlan uses the available idle time to
keep the SoftView Model up to date. Since the model does not need
to be extracted when SoftView is opened, the end result will be
an almost instantaneous appearance of 3D, Elevations, Sections,
and Roof Profiles. |

Batch Print
Batch Print will allow you to easily print your entire job at once.
Simply add your Drawings, including the Multi Drawing, to the Batch
Print list. Then when the Scale and Sheet Size are selected, one-by-one
the drawings will be fed out to the printer without any additional
input from the user. While the drawings are printing, your work
can continue uninterrupted on other SoftPlan tasks.

Building
Options
This advanced feature of SoftPlan allows you to manage variations
in a building plan. Using the Building Options feature, you can
start with a basic floor plan and then quickly add various structural
options such as a bonus room, sun room, alternate bath design, various
elevation appearances, and so on to it.
Using
the Building Option feature reduces drawing maintenance since you
can create one floor plan to show the standard design of the floor
plan and then add optional features to this drawing to produce variations
of the plan. Since there is only one floor plan, changes to it will
update all the drawings in the floor plan, while adding a building
option does not change the rest of the design. |

Custom
Roof ProfileThis
advanced feature is used to create curved and barreled roofs like
those used on French Country influenced designs. The user creates
these custom profiles. |

Customize
Floating Toolbar
The floating toolbar in Version 13 was designed keeping the user
in mind, as the content of the floating toolbar is user definable.
A command can be easily added or removed from the toolbar in each
of SoftPlan’s modes. |

Lathe
Use the Lathe Template to create custom
shapes for the stairs Posts, Newels, and Spindles. The Lathe allows
you to “convert” custom profiles out of square stock
that will be used on the 3D model and the generated working drawings. |

Layers
To give you more visibility control, you
can use Layers. Layers can be used to group a series of items that
you want to associate together, such as a series of walls, openings,
and dimensions. Once items have been assigned a specific layer you
can control the color and visibility of that layer, allowing you
to display a series of items in a drawing together. SoftPlan provides
20 Layers. For each Layer you can rename it to better reflect what
is to be added to the Layer, and specify the color for the items
displayed in the layer. |

Link
Floor Ability Added A Link
Floor selection is available on the Status bar during Move and Block
Move and on the Dimension dialog when a wall dimension is edited.
When selected, the change made will affect all floors. If a house
has a foundation, the main floor, the second floor, and an exterior
wall on the main floor is moved with Link Floors selected. Then the
walls above the second floor plans and below the foundation plan will
automatically move. |

Multi
Drawing Includes Multiple Instances of the Same Drawing
Each drawing can be displayed in various
modes allowing you to add information to a drawing that is unique
to that mode, such as roof plans, floor systems, and ceilings. Each
mode can be detailed to create a working drawing for that mode.
The Multi Drawing feature can be used to add the same drawing file
several times to the same multi drawing, while displaying each instance
of the drawing in a different mode. For example, you can add a floor
plan twice to a multi drawing and set one instance to Drawing mode
and the other instance to Roof mode. This allows you to show both
the floor plan layout (in Drawing mode) and the roof design layout
(in Roof mode) of the same house plan in the same multi drawing. |

Room
Mode Room mode has been
added in order to maintain information specific to room finishes
in a separate mode. Room polygons can be added to automatically
place interior details such as flooring, wallcovering, chair rail,
baseboards, bulkhead, and crown molding all in one step. Each room
will display with a different solid color for visual differentiation.
A Room Edit provides a table where the Room information can quickly
be accessed and easily updated for all rooms. |

SoftView
Real Time Fly Through Enhance
visual presentations and dazzle customers with the ‘SoftView
Real Time Fly Through’ feature. In SoftView, the camera and
focus point can be moved using the mouse, which allows the user
to fly through the textured SoftView model in real time. By using
the mouse wheel and buttons in combination with the keyboard, the
camera and the target can be moved. Plus the image model can be
magnified, panned across, or moved through. |

Single
Key Keyboard Shortcuts SoftPlan
comes with a series of predefined keyboard shortcuts to quickly
access some commonly used commands. For example, you can select
the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + S to save the current drawing, rather
than selecting the File > Save. These keyboard shortcuts can
be modified or you can create your own keyboard shortcut for any
number of existing SoftPlan commands to suit your needs. |

Sun
Studies Three different types
of Sun Studies can be created: |
| |
|
| |
Static
- A simple static Sun Study is created in SoftView by inputting
Location (Latitude + Longitude or City), as well as, Date, Time,
and Direction of North. The Sun Study coupled with the Output Options
in SoftView goes further and generates an animation file that will
display the affects of the sun on a design over the course of a
full day or a full year. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
 |
| |
|
| |
Full
Day Study - The full day study generates the cells at a
given interval, every 10 minutes for example, from sun up to sun
down. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
 |
| |
|
| |
Full
Year Study - The full year study generates a cell at the
specified time each day over the course of an entire year.
