(Electrical, Count, Symbol). As well, you can select to create a legend for the
current drawing or for all the drawings in the Drawing
Assembly.
- Select
OK.
- An Electrical
Legend will display on the drawing, displaying each electrical symbol used, its
name, and a quantity value of how many of each is has been
used.

Auto Place Electrical Outlets
|
|
SoftPlan Version 12 now includes an
automated option for placing outlets in a room. The user definable
Electrical Options will allow for control over the spacing between outlets
and the minimum wall length to be considered for placing an outlet on. As
with previous versions, outlets may still be placed and moved individually
as necessary.
|
- Select Draw > Electrical > Auto
Place Outlets
- Click within the room.
- SoftPlan will space the opening
according to the Electrical Options.

New Electrical Symbols Added

telephone will be listed.

Electrical Mode Added
|
|
SoftPlan version 12 has added a new
Mode the drawing’s Mode Selector which allows for an electrical layout to
be drawn. You can now place all electrical services in this new mode and
maintain separate visibility settings. This new feature will allow a more
organized and precise electrical layout because the electrical symbols are
drawn directly on the floor plan drawing file, which ensures that as the
design changes so does the electrical plan. This greatly eases the drawing
process as the Toolbar and Draw pull down menu reflect tools to complete
the electrical layout. In previous versions you either had to continually
change the visibility settings, or the electrical plan was a separate
drawing file. With the electrical layout in it’s own mode, you can easily
set the Visible Items for the Electrical mode once, and then it’s as easy
as switching to the Electrical mode to view the Electrical Plan.
|
- From the Mode Selector in the top
right of the Status bar, choose Electrical.
- Select Draw > Electrical Symbols
to complete the electrical Layout.
- Use Draw > Line Connect or Draw
> Arc Connect to draw connections between the electrical
symbols.
- If necessary, select Options >
Visible Items and specify those items you wish to be visible on your
electrical plan.
- To switch between the Floor Plan
layout and the Electrical Layout, simply change to the appropriate mode
and all visible settings for each mode will be maintained.
In addition to the Electrical tools
being available in the new Electrical Mode, they are also still available in
normal Drawing Mode as in previous versions.
