Why has my default font reverted to a different font (Arial or Marlett)? I can’t seem to change it
back.
The SoftPlan fonts have not been initialized in Windows, you will need to initialize them so that your default
font can be recognized. The font often changes to a Windows default of either Marlett or Arial.
For Win9x machines:
Exit out of SoftPlan. Go to Start> Settings> Control Panel and open the Fonts folder. Open one of the
SoftPlan fonts, they start with SP, such as SPHand, SPBenf, etc., click the Done button, close the Fonts folder and
reboot the computer. This will initialize the font.
For NT and XP, including 2000, machines:
Go to Start> Control panel and open the Fonts folder. Open one of the SoftPlan fonts, they start with SP, such
as SPHand, SPBenf, etc., click the Done button, close the Fonts folder and reboot the computer. This will
initialize the font.
Go into SoftPlan, click on File> System Options> Character Setup. Check the Fonts here to make sure they are
what you would like and click OK. When you are prompted to save the changes, answer yes, exit SoftPlan and then
start the program again. Open a drawing and go to File> Drawing Options> Character Setup. Check the Fonts
here to make sure they are what you would like, if they are not, select Reset to System and click OK. Version 10
users will have to manually select the fonts and click ok.
