While attempting to perform an edit of a window the program keeps selecting the wall? How do I fix this?

After selecting Edit > Edit Item, select Misc > Locate Type > Opening. You can now proceed to select the Window. The problem was either rooted to the fact you were zoomed out too far, or that with multiple items occupying one place (i.e., window, wall and possibly a dimension), the wall is taking precedence.

Note: that the steps of Misc > Locate Type can be toggled from the keyboard by select CTRL+L and selecting Opening
