I reinstalled SoftPlan and now when I attempt to open my drawings I receive the message "This drawing was created with a newer version of SoftPlan. It can not be read by this version."

This indicates that your previous SoftPlan installation was updated to a newer release after it was installed from the program disk.
To update your SoftPlan program, click on the Check for Updates button on the System Options... Setup Options dialog. It may be necessary to repeat this process several times in order to update SoftPlan to a release able to open your drawings.
Alternatively, download update patches from the Technical Support area of the SoftPlan website, following the installation instructions provided on the download page.  Again, it may be necessary to download and install more than one patch in order to update SoftPlan to a release able to open your drawings.
