I am unable to remove a complete deck from the plan. It appears to be in pieces. Why is this?

It is likely that you have exploded the deck. It will explode into individual deck components, such as Deck Surface, Deck Joist, and Deck Ring Joists. You can Item Erase each one, or go to Erase > Type Erase. Place a check beside each component to remove.
