How can I show and print a wall, which is to be removed as dashed?
To have a selected wall shown dashed and printed the same, you need to create a new wall in the wall definition.
This can be done in System Options (permanent changes for all future drawings) or Drawing Options (for the current
drawing). File > Drawing/System Options > Define Wall > Edit > select the wall type you want to show to
be removed (for example 2x4 Brick) > then press Save as… and give a name under Current Selection. Hit Enter to
place the new wall in the wall type list and select it from the list. Under wall definition, change the line
texture for each of the materials to a dashed line (this is done by double clicking on line texture and then
scrolling down to the correct line type). Click OK. If the wall or parts of the wall are not to be included in
SoftList due to their removal, the SoftList flag can be unchecked for all or some of the wall materials and they
will no longer be included. If you made the wall in System Options, and you want the changes to be active in the
current drawing, go to: File > Drawing Options > Define Wall > Reset to System. Any openings drawn on the
wall can be edited to be shown dashed just like the walls. Edit > Edit item > Display > put checkmark next
to ‘Dashed’. Walls and Openings can also be excluded from SoftList when edited on the drawing by removing the
checkmark next to the SoftList option.
