How can I create a fireplace with a chimney for 3D?
First, you need to draw the chimney walls plus the wall facing the building's interior. You may need to create
and use a new wall type appropriate for chimneys. For details on creating walls, see the Lesson for Defining Walls
in the manual, or SoftPlan's on-line help. After you draw the chimney walls, you will need to edit them to the
correct height. Next, create the fireplace opening. Use the Draw > Opening > Arch command to place an opening
and Edit the opening to correctly set the size of the opening, you will need to uncheck Product Code in the top
left corner in order to change the width and height of the opening. With walls and opening in place, add fireplace
symbols for 3D viewing by selecting Draw > Symbol > Fireplace: for example, you can add a fire box or mantle
to the chimney area. Use Adjust or Edit Item to make the symbol(s) fit the fireplace area.
